  • City Liaison - City Updates

    Published: June 28, 2021

As many of you might remember, Susan and I worked with the City of Frisco as a neighborhood liaison when the Edgewood development (to the west of us) was being designed. This helped us to better understand the development process and we got to know many of the people on the Planning and Zoning Commission as well as City Council of Frisco. The HOA asked us to provide everyone with an overview of the development that is going on around the Lawler Park area. I will try to summarize things into a logical group based on geographic region or other point of interest. Click Full Story for more information.

  • Landscaping - Hard Freeze

    Published: June 28, 2021

I am going to devote this first website column addressing the hard freeze we all experienced this past winter and how it affected our landscapes. There are a few plants that took the freeze worse than others. Hardest hit were Indian Hawthorne shrubs with many of our front landscape beds having had them planted as a hedge along our home’s foundations. Today they are still dead and dark brown on the top but if you look at the ground, they are coming up green from the bottom. The tops will never turn green, they have a hard frost burn on the leaves and branches that will not recover. Cut the Indian Hawthorne shrubs down to where you see green, and they should come back from there. A few of you have done this, everyone that has them should do this now if you haven’t unless you plan to pull them out and replace them. Click Full Story for more information

  • Dues Increase Information

    Published: October 30, 2017

    1. Manders (our landscape contractor) has done a poor job this year due to labor constraint from change in immigration related legal environment. As well as a reflection of the contract price we had with them. As a result, we lost a lot of common area landscape. There is a lot of dead landscape on Rolater Rd. With current budget constraints, the Board has to pick & choose what landscape to replace. The Board is constantly faced with a trade-off decision of under-funding the reserve fund Vs investing in dead landscape. Until October 1st , 2017 this board had not replaced ANY dead landscape ever only removed. 2. In considering replacing Manders, the Board got quotes from multiple landscape contractors. The least expensive quote came in at $100,487 with most expensive at $129,900. After considering contract maintenance costs, added menu cost i.e. cutting of love grass, and interviews the board chose to move forward with a new landscaper, Brightview. Brightview originally came in with a $127,000K bid, but we negotiated down to $101,000K... Click Full Story to read more and download the 2017 Signed Budget Resolution
